He graduated with Honors and earned Master of Fine Arts Degree from Jan Matejko University of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland in 1986. There, he solidified his academic knowledge in areas of painting, printmaking and sculpture. He also undertook postgraduating study in fields of costume and set design at his origin AlmaMater. After short stays in many european countries eventually he settled in Canada, in 1994. In Canada he supplemented his skills in computer's graphic design at Seneca College in Toronto. Macherzynski's international award winning approach to the visual arts is recognized throughout Europe and both Americas including the prestigious "Award of Excellence" for "Artitudes" International Art Competition New York City / USA; Jurors Price at 1st International Print Biennal Maastricht / Holland or Second Price for Tyndale College and Seminary 3rd Annual Art Competition Toronto / Canada. Collected widely in private and public sector, such as Raisa and Michail Gorbatchev Collection or King Harald of Norway. His art remains part of the Polish National Gallery and Polish Ministry of Art and Culture; Matildehohe Institute Germany; Panamericana Instituto del Arte Puerto Rico; Norwegian Art Council and Norwegian Research Council for Science and Humanities Norway to name a few. The public commissions produced are exhibited in Great Toronto Area, Ottawa and number cultural centers in France, Germany, Norway and Poland.
